Each Hut: Your Dog’s Private Haven with a Fence and Gate
A relaxing holiday means you should be able to sit back with a brew (or something a little stronger) and a good book without constantly holding onto a lead. To make this possible, every single glamping hut at Quarrywood is equipped with its own secure fence and gate. This dedicated enclosure transforms the area immediately outside your hut into a private, safe haven. Your dog can step outside to sniff the fresh morning air, bask in the afternoon sun, and stretch their legs at their own pace, entirely off-lead.
Ample Space: Letting Your Dog Roam Free and Securely
We know how important movement is for a dog’s wellbeing. The fenced areas around our huts offer ample space for a good potter around and an enthusiastic case of the zoomies. Because the boundaries are fully secure, you can completely relax. You will not have to worry about them wandering off into neighbouring areas or disturbing other guests. They have their own generous slice of the outdoors to enjoy safely.

A Menagerie of Friends: Other Animals You'll Meet at Quarrywood
We are very proud of the diverse, quirky family of animals that call Quarrywood home. Many of our team members are of the furry or feathered variety, and they cannot wait to meet you.
Farmyard Fun: Huey & Louey (Pot Belly Pigs), Quarry Wood’s Chickens
Prepare to fall in love with Huey and Louey, our two Pot Belly pigs. They came to us from the wonderful GreenAcres rescue centre. You will also see our busy chickens scratching around the yard. Many of our hens were rehomed from battery farms, and we are so happy to see them living their best, free-ranging lives. If you fancy a fresh breakfast, just ask us if you would like some eggs.
Canine Companions: Jasper, Blue, Buddy & Jerry (Whippets and Dachshunds)
If your dog loves making new friends, they will be in good company. Our own dogs are the unofficial heads of attention-seeking at Quarrywood. We have two gentle whippets, Jasper and Blue, along with two very friendly dachshunds, Buddy and Jerry. They adore visitors and will almost certainly pop by to say hello, ask for a few cuddles, and welcome you to the site.
Majestic Alpacas: Cookie, Cream, Blizzard, & Frank (with a friendly reminder)
Our charming alpacas—Cookie, Cream, Blizzard, and Frank—bring a fantastic sense of comedy to the smallholding. They are fun-loving and have wonderfully unique personalities. We are currently working gently with them to help them feel more comfortable around people. Because they can be a little timid, we kindly ask that you admire them from a distance and do not approach them unless one of our human team members is present.
Feline Friends: JJ, Angel & Rose (Rescue Cats)
Our dedicated “mouse management” team features three beautiful, semi-feral cats rescued from the GreenAcres centre. Each has their own unique personality. You might cross paths with Rose, a sweet one-eyed feline, or JJ, who loves curling up inside buckets around the yard. Angel is the most timid of the trio, so consider yourself incredibly lucky if she makes an appearance!
The Colourful Bluey (Peacock) and the Melodic Annie and Alma (Donkeys)
For a splash of brilliant colour, keep an eye out for Bluey, our male peacock. He can be a little antisocial, but he frequently shows off his stunning, long tail feathers. If you are very lucky, you might even find a dropped feather on the ground to take home as a souvenir. Over in the paddock by the Lodge, you will meet Annie and Alma. This mother-and-daughter donkey duo joined us from the Donkey Sanctuary in 2022. They form our welcoming committee and might just greet you with a very enthusiastic ‘HeeHaw!’
The Quarrywood Goats and Ducks
While we sadly said goodbye to our beloved rescue goat, Lionel, last year, Quarrywood is now home to six energetic, entertaining, and super-friendly girls! As you explore, be sure to look out for Una, Efa, Seren, Willow, Snowy, and Fern, who are always an absolute joy to watch.
Finally, as you wander near our recently developed pond area, you will hear the cheerful quacks of our five resident ducks enjoying the water. Among them is our little drake, Pop, who has quite the origin story. Rescued from a drain as a tiny duckling in Liverpool, he is now living his very best life here at Quarrywood.
